Change to Tournament Logic - Absent Players
Players have requested changes in dealing with absent players in tournaments and we have instituted new logic in order to improve tournament game play yet provide fairness for players who are legitimately absent for reasons beyond their control.
A player may be absent from a tournament table for six hands after which time they will automatically post a big blind every hand unless they are in the small blind position. Any player that raises pre-flop or bets on a subsequent bet round against an absent player will cause the absent player to fold. The changes apply to all tournament games that require the posting of blinds.
If an absent player is moved between tables within a tournament, they are granted an additional six hand grace period before the system begins posting big blinds on their behalf.
We are confident that the logic changes will improve overall tournament game play while recognizing some players have legitimate reasons for being absent and should address player concerns.
