Security

Our mission at Planet Poker is to offer the most secure cardroom on the Internet where all poker players can enjoy an honest game of cards without intimidation and unfair play. We are committed to maintaining the integrity of our online poker game and have designed all services to the highest standards of privacy, confidentiality and security.

Account Security

Account Registration: Prior to participating in any games, all users must register their full name and mailing address and email address with Planet Poker.

  • Internal to the software, each account is tracked by a unique account number that is generated automatically at the time the account is registered. For added security, players do not have access to this account number and the account number will remain transparent to the player. The player nickname will be used in all external references to the player account. Your Planet Poker account can only be accessed using your nickname and your chosen password. For increased security, your password should be 8 - 10 characters, with a combination of upper & lower case letters, numbers and shift number keys. Please make note of your password, as it will not appear in any correspondence. Use a unique password for Planet Poker that is not the same as any of your other passwords. All passwords are encrypted, and cannot be seen by staff members. In addition, if your computer is accessible to others, do not use the "Save Password" feature on the login screen.
  • Planet Poker accepts no responsibility for the unauthorized use of account credentials, including passwords.

System Security

We take the security of our system at Planet Poker very seriously. Whenever you access our website or online poker game any confidential information passed between us is encrypted. Our website uses secure server technology to ensure that when you access poker hand histories, make purchases etc., your communications are protected using the same technology as online banking sites. All communications between the Planet Poker game on your computer and our servers are also encrypted using public/private key encryption. Keys are changed frequently and are different for each client program. We haven't stopped there either! Our staff are continually scanning the Internet for newly discovered vulnerabilities and implementing those fixes. We continue to investigate new ways to improve as well.
