All-In Protection

The most significant situation affecting play in a virtual cardroom is the stability of the Internet. At times, online poker players may experience lag or even freezes or disconnects due to problems with the connection between their computer and our game servers, or because of a problem in their own computer. Any known problems with our system or the Internet, which may affect your connectivity, will be posted on the Notice Board which is accessable in the lower Info Box in the lobby, and at the Cardroom Status page, which is link from the bottom of each website page.

If you are experiencing frequent freezing up or connectivity problems, our technical support team is available to help you. Simply email us with a description of the problems you are having, and they may be able to suggest ways in which you might improve your connection to the game.

Please Note: Our Tournament games, Pot Limit and No Limit ring games are not all-in protected.

About the All-In Protection Feature

To limit the effects of a freeze-up or disconnect, we have developed a system whereby if you do not respond to the action or bet prompt within a predetermined time period (10 seconds for posting blinds/antes and approximately 18 to 23 seconds for betting), the system will make a determination whether or not your system is still properly connected to the internet. If the system can no longer establish that you are connected to the internet, the system will recognize that you have timed out. If you have money invested in the hand and the system evaluates you as being disconnected, you will be treated as "all-in" by the system. If you have not yet bet or the system evaluates you as connected to the server but failing to act within the allocated timeframe, your poker hand will be checked if checking is an option otherwise your hand will be folded.

This is not to be mistaken with the traditional meaning of being all-in as it relates to running out of chips in the middle of a hand. Rather, the system emulates the traditional all-in by acting to protect your investment in a pot where connectivity problems have prevented you from responding to a game prompt. If you are holding the winning poker hand, the pot that has built up to the point that you timed out (the main pot) will be awarded to you, and the rest (the side pot) will be awarded to the online poker player with the next best poker hand.

Note: Each player receives a daily quota of allowable All-Ins for Real Money games and an allowable quota for Free Play Money games. Remaining All-Ins from one type of money game cannot be used for the other money type games.

All-In Quota

Due to the potential for misuse, there is a limit to the number of times in a day that you will be protected in this way. This limit is changed from time to time dependent upon the stability of the Internet.

The daily all-in limit for Real Money games and for Free Play Money games is set to 2.
The all-in protections not used in one type of money game cannot be used in another type of money game.. If you have reached the all-in limit, subsequent timeouts will result in your poker hand being checked if possible, but otherwise folded. When you continue to play despite this, you are doing so at your own risk.

Note: Each player receives a daily quota of allowable All-Ins for Real Money games and an allowable quota for Free Play Money games. Remaining All-Ins from one type of money game cannot be used for the other money type games. Note that All-in protection is not active for Pot Limit, No Limit and Tournament games.

As a general rule, we do not support the resetting of All-Ins. Our software is designed to minimize connectivity issues and detect players that remain connected but fail to act. In the interest of other online poker players in the cardroom, resetting All-Ins will not be supported. Players that feel they are encountering special circumstances can report problems to us and every attempt will be made to assist in improving that players connectivity issues.

All-In Misuse

The misuse of the all-in protection system will not be tolerated! The policy is clear: We respond to all players' complaints regarding all-in misuse. We make every attempt to review specific hand histories along with historic records of other all-in protected hands to ascertain whether a player has been misusing the feature.

Appropriate action will be taken by cardroom management upon the completion of their investigation. For example, where warranted, the accused will have his/her all-in protection quota suspended for a period of time commensurate with the frequency of abuse and the historic evidence on file.

Players Are Responsible

The onus is on the individual players to monitor their all-ins and know when they are at risk of having their hand folded. The all-in counter is reset automatically every 24 hours, at 6:00 AM ET.

There is an "All-Ins Remaining" counter displayed when you are seated at the table. It will reflect the current number of all-in protections you have remaining for the daily quota. Each time you use an all-in protection, this number will be decreased by 1. When it reaches 0 you will not be all-in protected for subsequent hands.
